A maestro is judged by music world at large not only by various performances he gives during his life time but also by the legacy he leaves behind in terms of
(a) the style of playing ( baaz ) he has innovated for his chosen instrument
(b) the number compositions and the new raag that he has created
(c) and most importantly, a few dedicated and talented disciples he has groomed to carry on the vast legacy of music he has left behind.

It will not be an exaggeration to state that late Pandit Manohar Chimote comes closer to fulfilling the legacy of the music he has left behind in all above respects. Whereas the first two points are covered in the profile page, the third point needs amention here.

Many of the students and music lovers can still recall the finest music they have heard flowing out of the Samvadini of Pandit Manohar Chimote.
